What Exactly Is Bioidentical Hormone Replacement?

Here at Northeast Primary Care Associates in Humble, TX, Dr. Eve Patton and our Newella team can help determine if this treatment is the right choice for you, can help determine if this treatment is the right choice for you,

Bioidentical hormone replacement addresses many age-related changes

Hormone levels decrease in both men and women as they grow older. Although you may not notice a difference for years, the changes may actually begin in your late 20s or early 30s.

Your hormones affect nearly every part of your body. As they decline, you may:

  • Gain weight
  • Notice a decrease in muscle tone
  • Develop joint pain
  • Experience symptoms associated with peri-menopause and menopause, including night sweats, mood swings, bone loss, and painful intercourse
  • Experience brain fog
  • Lose strength, stamina, and motivation
  • Become less interested in sex

Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy augments your dwindling hormones with manmade hormones that are identical to the ones you naturally produce. The therapy may improve strength and energy, helps you get rid of stubborn weight/fat, enhances your mental clarity, boosts your mood, strengthens your muscles, and provides benefits to your heart health. Our manufacturer uses plant based sources for our  BioTE pellets.

When can I start bioidentical hormone replacement therapy?

You must be 30 years of age or older to participate in the therapy, although an exception may be made if you are younger and have a severe hormonal deficioncy.

How does the therapy work?

Before you can receive the therapy, you’ll need to pay a visit to Dr. Patton, our certified BioTE provider. She’ll ask questions about your health and explain how the therapy could address your complaints. You’ll also need a blood test to check your hormone levels. Your bioidentical hormones will be prepared specifically for you based on the results of your blood test.

You don’t want to change your primary care physician? NO PROBLEM! BioTE services are offered through Newella @ Northeast Primary Care and can be offered to you regardless of who your primary care physician is.
